Automechanika Asia 2005 to kick off April 6 in Malaysia

Taipei, April 1, 2005 (CENS)--The Automechanika Asia 2005, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region's leading trade fair for the automotive original equipment (OE) and aftermarket sector from design to maintenance and recycling, will be held on April 6-9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

After its third successful run in 2003, the 4th edition of Automechanika Asia is returning to Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Organized in collaboration with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the fair will have over 110 exhibitors from 16 countries/regions including Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Philippines, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the U.K. and U.S., showcasing their latest products and innovations in auto parts and components, accessories and tuning products, repair & maintenance equipment etc.

Automechanika Asia will be a major automotive forum with a series of marketing and networking events including:

SACHS National Mechanics Challenge (April 6-8)-- The finals of the first state-level skills competition for independent automotive aftermarket workshops in Malaysia will be held at Automechanika Asia daily.

Automechanika Academy (April 7)--A highly informative forum featuring discussions and exploration of topics by auto industry professionals, including "ASEAN Automotive Market: Analysis, AFTA Implications and Opportunities" by Frost & Sullivan; "Supply Chain Management" by Perodua Auto Corp. Sdn Bhd (PCSB); "Malaysian Automotive Industry" by Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA); and "Reliability Testing of Automotive Parts" by Singapore Test Services Pte Ltd.

Automechanika Business Forum (April 8)-- A one-on-one appointment scheduling service enabling exhibitors to meet with invited high-profile industry professionals, top-level buyers and government officials from the region.

Presentations (April 6)--A platform for exhibitors to make a more in-depth presentation of their products and services to a specialized audience, with topics including "3S Solution for the Automotive Industry" by Inter-Enterprise Solutions Sdn Bhd, and "Nakagawa Brand Launch" by Nakagawa Rubber Industries Sdn Bhd etc.

FAWOAM Annual Convention 2005 (April 6 –9)-- An annual convention organized by Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners' Association of Malaysia (FAWOAM) for its more than 3,000 members nationwide.

Automechanika Asia belongs to a global family of nine automotive industry events organized by the Messe Frankfurt of Germany in 11 countries.
