Founded in 1987, Chan Li Machinery Co., Ltd. Is one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of converting equipment and packaging systems, offering whole-plant solutions and technical know-how.

Its comprehensive product range includes fully automatic kitchen-towel and toilet-roll converting lines, tail sealers, accumulators, log saws, slitters and rewinders, wrapping machines for roll and facial tissue, handkerchief-converting machinery, and tissue interfolders.

The Tissue Interfolder was just recently introduced. With a patented auto-unloading design, the unit handles up to 170 meters per minute and the parent roll can be up to 2,300mm.

This year the firm will introduce its newest model offering, a high-speed slitter and rewinder that can achieve up to 1,500 meters per minute and accept a parent roll up to 3,650 mm.

Chan Li marketing manager Danny Lien says the firm is applying for numerous domestic and international patents this year. He attributes the many innovations introduced in the firm's various models to his company's top-flight R&D department. "Over the past few years, we have made great strides in the integration of mechanical and electrical systems in our machines," he says. "We also adopt modular designs to allow us more flexibility in expanding the functions of our machines and provide a wider range of cost-effective options for our customers."

Chan Li enjoyed 25% revenue growth last year, an achievement that Lien attributes partly to his company's competitive pricing. "With the same quality and production capacity, our machines are much more economical than counterparts made in other countries," he says.

The firm is a machine supplier to Taiwan's five top tissue-paper manufacturers and exports 90% of its output. The company's major export outlets are North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.

Chan Li plans to soon move its factory operations to Linkou Industrial Park in Taipei County, northern Taiwan. The space will be sevenfold that of the current facility, allowing the firm to offer even more efficient support and more timely delivery for its clients.
