Established in 1980, Universal Hardware Corp. is one of the largest hand-tool manufacturers in Asia, as well as one of the leading firms in the sector, specializing in manufacturing manual and pneumatic socket wrenches and accessories, screwdrivers and bits, tap and die sets, blow-mold cases, and many types of plastic-injection items.

In 1998 the firm set up an expansive, vertically integrated factory in Shanghai, mainland China to meet surging demand from customers spread worldwide.

The firm is especially renowned for professional and advanced-quality tool-set production. The company's expert R&D team develops unique, innovative products. In addition, management stresses, it is also known for its development capability in blow and plastic-injection molds, high capacity in the production of sockets, bits, ratchet handles, tap/die sets, and blow cases, and injection parts for screwdrivers and organizers.

Universal was TUV-GS certified in 1986 and ISO 9002 approved in 1996. It turns out about 350,000 sockets and 50,000 bits per day, destined for major customers in Europe and the U.S.
