Yageo enjoyed 22% revenue growth in Feb.

Taipei, March 11, 2003 (CENS)--Yageo Corp., the largest local manufacturer of various resistors, rang up revenue of NT$892 million last month, growing by 21.86% from the NT$732 million posted in February last year.

Yageo is also the world's largest producer of chip resistors. The company's revenue for last month also rose by 11.78% from the NT$798 million registered in January this year. The firm's cumulative revenue for the first two months of this year came to NT$1.690 billion, a year-on-year rise of 14.2%.

Together with its overseas operations, Yageo brought in total revenue of NT$1.263 billion in February, jumping by 24.56% from the NT$1.014 billion recorded a year earlier but dropping by 4.61% from the NT$1.324 billion registered in January. The company's two-month revenue totaled NT$2.587 billion, going up by 14.47% from the NT$2.260 billion posted in January-February last year.

On the other hand, Ralec Electronic Corp. is another major manufacturer of resistors, while Luxon Electronics Corp. and Lelon Electronics Corp. are two main local makers of aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

Ralec Electronic witnessed its revenue of NT$80.86 million for February rise by 28.6% from a year earlier but dip by 20% from a month earlier. The company raked in two-month revenue of NT$182 million, climbing by 48.57% from the NT$122.5 million recorded in the same period of 2002.

Luxon Electronics' revenue of NT$159 million edged up 0.63% from the NT$158 million received in February last year but slipped by 14.97% from the NT$187 million garnered in January this year. The company's two-month revenue came to NT$346 million, growing by 5.49% from the NT$328 million posted in the same period of last year.

Lelon Electronics chalked up NT$172 million in revenue last month, falling by about 2% form a year earlier and by 6.01% from the NT$183 million rung up in the preceding month. The company scored two-month revenue of NT$354 million, declining by 4.84% from the NT$372 million posted in January-February 2002.
