Yageo suffered revenue drop in April

Taipei, May 14, 2003 (CENS)--Yageo Corp., the largest local manufacturer of chip resistors listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE), witnessed its combined revenue of NT$1.302 billion slip by 13.4% from April last year.

Yageo's combined revenue, including revenues rung up by its overseas subsidiaries, for last month also dipped by 8% from March this year. However, the company's revenue of NT$1.168 billion from its domestic operations and its overseas in the Asia-Pacific region grew by 11% from the preceding month.

Yageo raked in combined revenue of NT$5.303 billion for the first four months of this year, edging up by 4.3% from the same four months of last year.

TA-I Technology Co., Ltd. And Ralec Electronic Corp. are two other TSE-listed local producers of chip resistors. TA-I Technology reaped NT$97.84 million in revenue last month, rising by 5.6% from a year earlier and by 5.2% from March this year. The company's four-month revenue came to NT$340 million, growing by 9.4% from the same period of last year.

Ralec Electronic garnered revenue of NT$96.5 million last month, dipping by 5.7% from a year earlier but going up by 4.71% from a month earlier. The company chalked up four-month revenue of NT$371 million, a year-on-year increase of 19%.
