Jiann Yeh Wood Achieves Success in Furniture Making By Staying in Taiwan

2008/11/14 | By Judy Li | JIANN YEH WOOD CO., LTD.

After nearly a decade of hard work, the Taiwan-based furniture manufacturer Jiann Yeh Wood Co. has become expert at making stylish, modern dining tables, end tables, desks, computer workstations, chairs, and cabinets.

Unlike most other Taiwanese furniture makers, which have moved their production lines to the opposite side of the Taiwan Straits, Jiann Yeh is committed to keeping its operations on the island. "We prefer to stay in Taiwan," explains company manager Candy Lin, "because we can find reliable materials suppliers and subcontractors here. Besides, we believe that the quality of materials and workers is better in Taiwan than in China."

Jiann Yeh makes its furniture mostly of particle board, fiberboard, bentwood, and plastic plywood, combined with traditional materials such as metal and glass. Its central Taiwan plant covers an area of 1,650 square meters.

A continuous upgrading of production machinery assures product quality and keeps manpower requirements down. The company's work force numbers only 20 to 30 persons, but they turn out enough furniture to fill 20 to 50 containers every month.

"Quality, design, and practicality are the three key features of all of our products," Lin emphasizes. "We have a strong R&D team that develops new products each quarter, although most of our products are manufactured on an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or ODM (original design manufacturer) basis."

The company recently introduced several compact desks and casual tables with modern designs and a choice of colors, sizes, and patterns. They have been on the market for only a couple of months, but are already proving a great success.

Jiann Yeh`s casual tables are available in a variety of colors, sizes, and patterns.
