KTO Technology, an affiliate of the power-tool manufacturer Jenn Feng Group, has recently begun producing LED lighting products including LED streetlights, as well as LED MR16, LED PAR30, LED PA38, and LED TH01 lamps in addition to high intensity discharge (HID) lamps and ballasts, which it has made since it was founded in 2001.
The company's advantages in LED-lighting manufacturing include Jenn Feng's long experience in auto-lamp manufacturing, which provides the know-how in lighting-fixture design; Jenn Feng's power-tool manufacturing, which provides the expertise in thermal-dissipation design; and its HID ballast manufacturing, which is helpful to LED electrical-power design.
KTO sources LED emitters from Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd., Intematix Technology Center Corp., and Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. for its lighting fixtures.
In addition to its in-house research and development team, the company asks for technological support from LED scientists in the elite National Central University.
Excellent thermal technology has kept ambient temperature of the company's LED lighting fixtures within 50 Centigrade degrees, ensuring the company's products can work long.
KTO has contracted several lighting-engineering companies to sell its products, which are mostly developed for lighting applications at premises. So far, the company has three franchised distributors in Canada and a number of contracted hardware shops in Taiwan.
Now the company is planning to combine its LED lamps with solar technology, making its products eco-friendlier. All the solar products needed will come from Jenn Feng, which entered into solar business in July 2008 and plans to equip itself with four production lines of solar cells in the third quarter of 2009.
