P-Two Becomes Quanta's Major Supplier of NB Connectors

Taipei, Sept. 7, 2009 (CENS)--P-two Industrial Inc, a listed manufacturer of flat-panel connectors, will expand production of connectors for notebook personal computers under the request of Quanta Computer Inc., one of Taiwan's top-five NB computer manufacturers.

Over the past few weeks, Taiwan's top-five NB computer manufacturers have asked P-two to expand production of NB connectors as they are facing harsh challenge from Hon Hai Precision Industry Inc., Taiwan's largest supplier of electronic manufacturing services, which has ventured into NB contract production.

A well-established manufacturer of flat-panel connectors, P-two has diversified into cellular phone, NB, TFT-LCD (thin film transistor-liquid crystal display), CD (compact disk) drive and PDA (personal digital assistant) industries. The company is Taiwan's first connector manufacturer to mass-produce unleaded products amid the rising awareness of environmental protection.

Maintaining close ties with P-two over the past several years, Quanta has asked P-two to speed up development of NB-related connectors to compete with Hon Hai. P-two noted it has received requirements from other NB contract manufacturers to increase output of NB-related connectors, and therefore will boost production in this field in the months to come.

Thanks to the addition of new customers of TFT-LCDs from Japan and South Korea, P-two scored NT$2.1 in earnings per share in the first half of this year.
