GC Energy to Supply Cells for Police Cars at World Expo Shanghai

Taipei, March 23, 2010 (CENS)--Taipei, March , 2010 (CENS)--Gold Crown Energy Co. (GC Energy), a reinvested LiFePO4 lithium-ion battery maker in China by Taiwan-based China Electric Mfg. Corp., recently claimed to have won orders from the World Expo Shanghai China 2010 to supply power cells for gasoline police vehicles.

L.J. Cho, chairman of China Electric, claimed that the World Expo battery order is a clear indicator of GC Energy's initial success in the LiFePO4 battery business.

With increased revenue generated from its LED bulb and LiFePO4 batteries, China Electric had accumulated revenue of US$27 million in the first two months of this year, up 32.76% year-on-year (YoY). In 2009, China Electric registered consolidate revenue of US$126.9 million and net profits of US$11.5 million.

A senior executive of the company said that a lithium-ion battery cell production line in northern Taiwan's Hsinchu would be completely constructed by the end of the year, when the company's lithium-ion battery business would take off.
