Taipei, Aug. 16, 2010 (CENS)--While gradually moving production to the inner province from coastal provinces in China, the Hon Hai Group, besides selecting Chongqing, Sichuan province as a production center for NB PCs, also aims to set up PCB (printed circuit board) production lines there sometime in September to facilitate its target production of two million NBs in 2011.

The proposed establishment of the PCB production lines in Chongqing will help the group to boost capacity and tap the NB and flat panel fields.

A report in China's Web news says that Foxconn, Hon Hai's subsidiary in China, is renting a standard plant of 15,000 square meters in Dadukuo, Chongqing province. In addition to Hon Hai, Taiwan's Quanta Computer Inc. is building a computer connector plant in Dadukuo, which will begin mass production in 2011. With total investment of 100 million renminbi, the Quanta plant will be built by the end of this year.

The expanded capacity by Hon Hai and Quanta is expected to meet the target shipment of 50 million NBs for Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2011.

Hon Hai and Quanta are HP contract manufacturers, with Quanta dominating 45% to 50% of HP's total contract orders.
