Sound Han Industrial Co., Ltd., founded in 1973, has been well-known as a supplier of Hans-branded repair tools in many countries of the world.

The company's product portfolios include spanner wrenches, hand sockets, impact sockets and accessories, air impact wrenches, hex key wrenches, screwdrivers and bits, screwdrivers, pliers, locking pliers and roller chests and cabinets, with over 90% going to overseas markets, such as the Middle East, Central Asia and Southeast Asia. Tool sets, construction tools and various cutters for professional use have also been among the firm's business boosters starting 2010.

Chang Mu-han, the firm's foreign relation director, noted that his company decided to venture into development of own brand by trying hard to impress foreign buyers with an “Made-In-Taiwan” image about 20 years ago, when Taiwan-made hand tools were widely regarded as very low-end products with the worst quality in the world. To wipe out the stereotype among foreign buyers, the company has devoted itself to incessantly improving product quality for a long time.

Obviously a perfectionist, Sound Han has consistently enhanced durability and quality of even the most mundane wrenches and adaptors to earn customers' recognition. The effort has paid off, as Hans-branded products now are seen as top-end hand tools in the Middle East and China.

Chang noted that his company is very likely to see full-year revenue for 2010 exceed that of 2008, thanks to steadily growing overseas sales. He especially pointed out professional-caliber sockets and wrenches are used by automakers and mining companies in China, which have served as growth drives in recent years, reflecting Hans's solid recognition among local users.

“We believe devotion to enhancing product's added-value and building MIT images has effectively helped Hans to position itself as a higher-profile supplier over its competitors in overseas markets,” Chang said.
