Taipei, March 5, 2012 (CENS)--Invited by Taiwan's Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI), Fujian provincial governor Su Shulin will lead a delegation of about 500 persons to Taiwan on the 24th and stay for about a week.

Su and the group will meet Taiwan's leading entrepreneurs in such industries as petrochemicals, finance, steel & iron, LCD panels, electronics, IT & telecom as well as local farmers, fishermen and young businessmen to build understanding and promote trade between Fujian and Taiwan.

Above all, Su will promote the projects in Fujian's Pingtan Experimental Development Zone and welcome Taiwanese professionals to work there. Pingtan is China's fifth largest island and its proximity to Taiwan makes it a portal for bilateral economic development.

The zone reportedly plans to recruit over 1,000 Taiwanese in various fields within five years, paying each annually 200,000-600,000 renminbi (RMB) or about NT$1-3 million (US$33,333-100,000) depending on the job, which is double the basic pay of many ITC workers in Taiwan.

Besides, the Fujian government, as part of China's “12th Five-Year Plan,” will assist 10 Taiwanese enterprises with annual revenue exceeding NT$10 billion (US$333.33 million), including AU Optronics Corp., Chunghwa Picture Tubes, TPK Holding Co., Xianglu Petrochemicals, Cheng Shin Rubber Ind. Co., etc.
