Taipei, Sept. 13, 2012 (CENS)--Largan Precision Co., Ltd., a major supplier of 8MP (mega-pixel) camera lens for Apple iPhone 5, registered consolidated revenue of NT$1.53 billion (US$51.1 million) in August, up 30% MoM (month-on-month) to set a second monthly record.

Apple is expected to soon announce and begin shipments of the new iPhone 5 smartphones. Industry sources said that the new handset will have a new 19-pin connector rather than the original 30-pin, as well as a four-inch screen with 16:9 aspect ratio. The display resolution of iPhone 5 will be higher-than-320 dpi, also being as thin as 7.6mm (2mm thinner than iPhone 4S).

Some 150 million iPhone 5s are expected to be sold in the first year after demonstration, up about 50% from iPhone 4S' sales volume in the same period.

The pricing of the iPhone 5 in the U.S. is estimated to be US$199 with a two-year contract, with the price of iPhone 4S expected to drop to US$99 on the same package.

Industry sources pointed out that all signs suggest Largen's revenue in September to further rise to break the firm's old monthly record of NT$1.54 billion (US$51.4 million) set in September 2011.
