Bright International Seeks Harmony Through Lighting

Mini energy-saving bulbs are a feature of many "Bright" brand products.

The Bright International Group, founded in 1983 by chairman Hsu Chen-shen, has built up a reputation for its outstanding performance in the lighting industry. After more than two decades of growth, the group now encompasses 11 companies in businesses that range from manufacturing to a five-star hotel.

Bright International was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1999-the first lighting manufacturer in Asia to gain approval for trading in the former colony. The group now operates five lighting plants that have a total of 19 production lines on 200,000 square meters of space.

The popular outdoor light is designed mainly for commercial use.

The group's lighting product lines include fixtures for both indoor and outdoor lighting, including a wide range of ceiling lamps, table lamps, floor lamps, and wall lamps, a wide range of commercial-lighting fixtures such as fluorescent lamps, downlights, spotlights, and floodlights, in addition to streetlights, public-facility lighting fixtures, and energy-saving lamps. It also provides advanced technology for lighting-distribution systems for construction projects. Group officials claim to enjoy the highest reputation among an extremely wide variety of customers.

A strong research and development team has won the group more than 700 patents for its products, most of which have gained international standards certification including ISO-9001:2000, ISO-14000, CSA, UL, SEMKO, NEMKO, TUV, GS, and 3C. Thanks to these achievements, Bright International is recognized worldwide as a model of success in the lighting industry.

In addition to manufacturing lighting products on an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) basis, the group also develops lamps, for both household and commercial use, that are marketed under its own "Bright" brand. To enhance its manufacturing capabilities, the group has worked hard for years to reinforce its R&D effort and upgrade its facilities with the aim of improving quality as well as efficiency. Today, the group boasts that it is able to offer its customers a range of services that extend from lighting planning to lamp design and total solution projects.

Participation in major lighting shows all over the world helps the group keep up with international trends in fashion, styling, technology, manufacturing methods, and other relevant know-how.
