Hope Uses Patented Designs in Bearings

Hope Industrial Corporation, founded in 1971, is one of Taiwan's most reputable manufacturers of bearings. With over three decades in the line, the company specializes in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of high-quality models.

Over the past several years Hope has been expanding its product lines to include hardware, electronics, and automotive parts and components in order to meet customers' diversified needs.

Among the ISO9001-certified company's offerings are single radial ball bearings, pulley bearings, sliding door and window components, flanged bearings, tandem rollers, and steel and polyacetal rollers.

Since its inception, Hope has been focusing on the development of high-quality and high-precision products to help customers make profits in production. To that end, the company has streamlined its production facilities and focused on offering rapid and accurate after-sale services.

The company has an in-house research and development department in charge of developing key techniques and new production methods, enhancing product quality, reducing production costs, raising efficiency by way of automated production equipment. To ensure the quality of its products, the company employs computer-aided design and manufacturing tools in the design and production processes.

The company boasts it acquired advanced Japanese-made machinery in 1980 to begin production of miniature chrome-steel ball bearings. The miniature bearings are extensively used in machinery, motors, and power tools.

Since 1997, the company has been expanding production facilities overseas by first establishing Ningbo Moshi-Hope Bearing Co., Ltd. In Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, mainland China. With parent plant located in Shulin, Taipei County of northern Taiwan, Hope now has established six plants in the Asian regions, including two in Taiwan, two in the mainland, and the remaining two in Thailand. The company boasts it has more than 700 clients in 42 nations worldwide.

William Chuang, chairman of Hope, says the production facilities in Thailand has given his company competitive advantages in the manufacture of ball bearings, hardware and automotive components. The company has also invested in a Thailand company named Mintech Co., Ltd. That focuses on the production of injection components and open molds. The investment in Mintech has helped Hope enhance competitiveness in the field of injection components, allowing it to offer plastic, composite and plastic-metal components.

Hope boasts it has ability to produce patented products by launching revolutionary design. For instance, the company claimed its patented one-piece rivetless pulley bearings, which are widely used in garage doors, sliding doors, and windows, feature a revolutionary design for the pulley industry.

The company boasts it eliminates riveting process in the production of pulley bearings so that they can apply to standard heat treatment to ensure harder and more durable properties than conventional ones. Traditionally, the carbon-steel bearings for sliding doors and windows, the inner race (shaft) is composed of two pieces that are riveted together. As the riveting process doesn't allow for standard heat treatment, harness is reduced and the life span of the bearings is thus shortened.

Hope says the patented design helps it to produce smoother, quieter, more efficient and longer-lasting bearings than conventional ones. For instance, in fatigue tests, traditional bearings can carry 40kg load for 25 hours while the company's patented pulley bearing can carry the same load five times longer, for over 125 hours.
