Jashico Machine Manufacture Co., Ltd., established in 1982, is one of Taiwan's most professional manufacturers of computerized numerically controlled (CNC) and high-speed lathes. A specialized manufacturer, Jashico is dedicated to developing high-added-value products that fill all requirements for the upper end of the domestic and overseas markets, especially in the U.S. and Western Europe.

In its early years the company concentrated on high-speed lathes. It has extended its product lines to include large- and medium-sized CNC lathes, and is now working on the development of large-sized CNC lathes to provide comprehensive one-stop shopping services to buyers.

Four years ago, Jashico was contracted by Victor Taichung Machinery Works Co., Taiwan's largest manufacturer of lathes, to produce high-speed and CNC lathes on an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) basis. The company uses its own 'Top-Turn' and 'Lux-Matter' brands to market its products to mainland China, Southeast Asian nations, the U.S., Canada, and some European nations.

To expand capacity to meet steady growth in orders, in early 2003 the company moved its manufacturing plant to Wujih Township from Tali City, both in Taichung County, central Taiwan. The new production facility occupies a land area of 5,200 square meters and a floor space of 3,900 square meters. Capacity at the new facility is 80 CNC and high-speed lathes a month.

With an in-house research and development department, Jashico is capable of developing lathes in accordance with all customer specifications. The company boasts its products feature a streamlined, space-saving metal-sheet exterior and modular design. All of the firm's products are developed in-house.

The company says its CNC lathes can help users roll out the most sophisticated products, in large part because of the adoption of 'Alpha CAM' software for C-axis operation. The software helps shorten program-compilation time because it can divert graphics into programs for cutting, milling, engraving, drilling and tapping operations.

Recently, the company announced it is close to completion of development of a large-sized slant-saddle lathe featuring a 1,000mm maximum swing diameter, and 230mm up to 535mm boring diameter.

The company states it has been selling successfully in the European market for two decades. At present, major export outlets include mainland China, Southeast Asian nations, the U.S., Canada, European nations, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Over the past few years, the company has seen booming sales to mainland China. To provide better after-sale services in that increasingly lucrative market, the company has set up two liaison offices there, in Dongguan, Guangdong Province and Shanghai, Jiangsu Province. The firm is optimistic that sales there will continue to grow at a rapid clip.
