Taiwan's Ming Tai Industrial Co., Ltd., founded in 1966, is one of the island's elite makers of steel-strip springs. Developing a clutch of innovative products each year, the company now rolls out a comprehensive range of springs.

The firm has a plant occupying a floor space of 5,600 square meters in the town of Tamsui in Taipei County, northern Taiwan. The facility is equipped with advanced dedicated-purpose machines to facilitate its production of high-grade springs. Currently the company is capable of turning out 2.5 million springs per month.

Major production equipment includes slitting machines for steel strips, edge trimming machines for steel strips, a furnace for hardened and tempered steel strips, computerized numerically controlled (CNC) forming machines for various steel-strip springs, and clearing machines and tempering furnaces for spring parts.

Ming Tai management boasts that its products are of the highest quality levels because it adopts integrated production methods, with the firm engaging in-house in such crucial processes as metal slitting, surface heat treating, edge trimming and forming. The company also employs a full suite of testing equipment in-house, including hardness testers, force testers, torque testers, lifecycle testers, and stereo microscopes.

Steel-strip constant-force springs is one of the company's newest and-already-most in-demand line of products. They are proving ideal for use in electric motor-brush mechanisms, with the models' long carbon-brush life, low noise, low electromagnetic interference, and small size the main but not exclusive attractions.

The company is now developing a series of twin-coil constant-force springs.

In addition to Taiwan, the company sells its products to the markets of mainland China, Southeast Asia, the U.S., and some European nations.
