Kauw Yehi Industrial Co., Ltd. Was founded in 1979 to engage in the production of cable ties, crimping tools, screwdrivers and wire strippers/cutters. Recently, the company rolled out a patented tool doubling as a screwdriver and a wire stripper.

The new product comes in two models--the one with spare screwdriver bits and the one without. The type with spare bits, which the company dubs as model A, comes with seven bits for screwing seven specifications of fasteners. The other type, model B, does not have spare bits, but it can screw two types of fasteners with its shaft having blade tip on one end and cross tip on the other.

Handles of both types are wire strippers. The square handles are splittable, with a half part removable and the other half fixed. On the handles there are six holes equally split by the open line. Cutting edges are built in the holes. The holes fit wires in diameter of 6mm, 4mm, 2.5mm, 1.5mm, 1mm and 0.75mm, the most common specifications for household wires. On bottom ends of the handles there are a hole for wire with a diameter of between 6mm and 7.5mm.

This tool is 250mm long. Its metal parts are made of chrome-molybdenum steel processed with some special heat treatments. It goes to market under the company's brand name "KTP."

So far, the smart tools have been patented in Taiwan, mainland China and Germany, and are pending patent approvals in the United Kingdom and the United States.
