Supreme A&E Ltd., established in 1990, is a professional manufacturer of dual-brake industrial-use wheels and casters. The company employs advanced manufacturing skills to recreate these as decorative as well as functional products to increase the price of the furniture items with which they are used.

To meet the varying demands emanating from its worldwide customer base, the company rolls out a wide range of wheels and casters in standard models measuring 25, 30, 35, 38, 40, 45, 50, 60, 75, 100, 120, 160, and 200mm in diameter. Load capacities range from 10kg to as high as 220kg.

These products are put to use on a wide array of items, including home- and office-use furniture, display racks, factory machinery and industrial-use transport devices, trolleys, handcarts, hospital equipment, hotel and catering equipment, laboratory equipment, and computers/electronic appliances.

"Many of our products already meet international standards for safety and quality, including BIFMA and NSF certification," says Alice Mak, president of the company. "We also focus on researching and developing advanced technologies and designs to facilitate the creation of innovative products. For instance, we have special wheel models with antistatic plastic housing for use in the electronics industry, models with precision waterproof ball bearings and stainless-steel housing for the cleaning industry, and models fitted with a two-directional locking system for hospital equipment."

Supreme A&E conducts different tests for different kinds of casters, including for wear, cold-weather resistance, load capacity, impact-resistance, and durability. The company's casters are made of TPE, a kind of elastomer shaped via the hot-injection process. TPE is non-toxic, elastic, and extremely durable.

"We would like to build up the image of casters as decorative products, which can help increase the price of the assembled products on which they are used," says Mak. "To that end, our products are coated with faux-antique chrome, brass, powder coating in black, nickel, and other attractive exteriors."

The company has a 140,000-square-foot production facility in mainland China's city of Fuzhou, in Fujian Province, with ample capacity for the company to expand. With a work force of 600, Supreme A&E is capable of rolling out eight million wheels and casters per month. The company mainly sells to the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Japan.

The company will showcase its newest products at the international exhibition Interzum Cologne 2003, slated for May23-27 at the KolnMesse, Germany. Its booth number will be 037B.
