Taipei, June 29, 2005 (CENS)--Several major connector makers in Taiwan reported exciting performance in taking orders, suggesting bright sales prospects for consumer electronics and notebook PCs in the second half of the year.

Jess-Link Products Co., Ltd. (JPC) claimed that it would start to deliver connectors in the third quarter to a new and big wireless-transmission customer. A JPC executive said that his company's monthly revenue would rebound to NT$300 million (US$9058 million at US$1: NT$31.3) in June and that in August is expected to outstrip NT$380 million (US$12.14 million) due to flooding orders.

JPC said that it would become a major connector supplier to a leading consumer-electronic maker in the U.S. in August.

Chant Sincere Co., Ltd., another leading connector maker, said that its newly developed antenna models have been adopted by several major cell-phone brands in Europe and the U.S., and the firm's multi-function memory-card connectors would be mass shipped to SanDisk in the third quarter. Chant Sincere spokeswoman Chen Yueh-mei said that her company has received orders for over NT$100 million (US$3.19 million) worth of products in June and the monthly revenue in the third quarter are expected to hit a new high.

L&K Precision Technology Co., Ltd. Claimed that it has signed a contract with local Chunghwa Picture Tubes, Ltd. (CPT), Taiwan's No. 3 maker of thin film transistor-liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panels, for the supply of high-frequency low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) connectors in July. L&K claimed that it would ship about 200,000 LVDS connectors to CPT per month, and the volume is expected to grow to about 300,000 units late this year.

Eyeing lucrative notebook PC sales in the second half of the year, some institutional investors are actively investing in key-parts suppliers. For instance, WanShih Electronic Co., Ltd., a leading OEM/ODM manufacturer of mini coaxial-cable assemblies for tier-one notebook PC and mobile-phone makers, said the firm would turn profitable in the next few months as a result of winning orders from many makers of personal digital assistants (PDAs) and notebook PCs.
